About EFF

EFF was created in 2007 by parents living on Miami Beach who wanted to help develop a bilingual program much like Sunset and Coconut Grove Elementary in that region. After 3 years of persistent work with our partners Miami-Dade Public Schools, the French Consulate and the Miami Children’s Museum and FLAM we are pleased to report that this year we were able to start a partially bilingual program within the Miami Children’s Museum Charter School . The second objective of the organization is to provide French styled education on Saturday morning’s for French native and non-native children. As a not-for-profit organization, our key motivation is each child’s education while providing each with a fun and safe environment. Our hope and expectation is to expand each student’s knowledge and appreciation of French culture and language. _______________________________L'association à but non lucratif EFF a pour mission de proposer des formules éducatives afin que les enfants francophones, francophiles et français vivant à Miami Beach, exclus des établissements scolaires existants pour des raisons de longues distances (inadaptés à des enfants en bas âges), financières, de capacité ou autres, puissent acquérir, maintenir ou approfondir leur connaissance de la langue et de la culturefrançaise.

Saturday Morning Classes- – L' Ecole du Samedi EFF organizes classes on Saturday morning at the Miami Downtown Charter School for French native students and since last year for non- French speaking students.The classes take place from 10:00AM to 12:30PM inside the Charter School in a very creative environment. We have multiple levels of classes. The group 3-6 years old learn through games, songs and arts and crafts and are able to discover the French language and its culture via complete immersion.The group 6-12 years old is split by age group and reading levels following French education methodology to learn both grammar and conjugation via the Ratus methods Both groups are involved in 2 school projects every trimester: the preparation of the school magazine published 3 times a year and the school show presented at the end of each terms. Ecole du samedi:EFF propose des cours de français pour les francophones et non francophones le samedi matin dans les locaux de la Miami Downtown Charter School de 10H00 à 12H30.Groupe 3-6 Ans : Pour le groupe de 3-6 ans les professeurs de ’EFF utilise une méthode multi-sensorielle avec une approche ludique et manuelle de la langue. Par ailleurs, nous souhaitons offrir à ces élèves un panorama de la francophonie en leur présentant récits, chansons et comptines qui les exposeront à la variété des expressions de langue Française et leur donneront un aperçu de la culture française. Groupe 6-12 Ans : Ce programme s'’adresse à des enfants ayant une maîtrise du langage à l’oral mais dont les capacités à l’écrit sont moindres, voire non existantes. L’équipe de professeur travaille sur l’approfondissement de la lecture, l’expansion du vocabulaire et l’apprentissage de la grammaire. Par ailleurs, nous souhaitons offrir à ces élèves un panorama de la francophonie en leur présentant récits, chansons et comptines qui les exposeront à la variété des expressions en langue Française et leur donneront un aperçu de la culture Française. EFF utilise la méthode Ratus Tous les enfants de l'’école participent également au cours de chaque trimestre à deux projets de groupe : la préparation du journal de l’'école qui est publié trois fois par an et la préparation du spectacle de fin de trimestre.

EFF a sponsorise pendant 3 ans un programme de français au sein de l' ’Ecole Charter du Children Museum ouvert à TOUS les enfants de Miami –Dade.Grace a EFF La Charter School du Children Museum a pu mettre place a partir de la rentrée 2011 un programme bilingue pour la classe de Kinder et 1st grade.EFF has sponsored a French teacher for the last 3 years at the Miami Children Museum Charter School. With EFF's help the MCMCS was able to put in place a bilingual program for the 2011-2012 school year for Kinder and 1st Grade. For additional Information contact MCMCS.
